Petra's family relationships are complicated. Her parents separated as soon as she was born and though she knew who her father was, she had no contact with him. Her mum soon re-married and Petra was brought up by her mum and step-father. Her father's brother was called Jaroslav and kept in touch with Petra's mum but Petra was not really aware of who he was. It was only when, aged 15, she made friends with Mira, Jarda's son, that she began to discover her father's side of the family. Very quickly Petra and Mira became great friends and every friend of Petra's since has come to understand how important he has been in her life. Petra loved dearly, not only Mira but also his lovely wife Eva and their beautiful daughters, Eliska and Amalka.
